Natural binding agent combined with an emulsified bituminous product to create a durable gravel road sealant. When applied on unsealed gravel roads at open pit mines, it will produce a durable, smooth and dust free surface with less frequent maintenance intervals.
GreenBit™ is a gravel road sealant made of a Lignosulfonate binding agent combined with an emulsified bitumen mixture. The manufacturer claims that GreenBit™ is less harmful to the environment than traditional bitumen based road sealants because of its natural active ingredient.
The product is applied with water to exterior unsealed gravel roads to optimise dust suppression by binding fine soil particles to decrease the mechanical erosive effect of traffic on the road. This product is ideally suited for permanent roads at any mining operation and can also be applied in residential areas.
GreenBit™ is diluted in several concentrations for application, ranging from 0.25% to 2.5% per volume, depending on application frequency as well as road and traffic conditions.
